The health, safety and wellbeing of staff and students is of paramount importance to the Higher Education (HE) sector and this is more important than ever given the fundamental impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on how people work, study and live. Large numbers of academic and professional services staff are currently working from home and it is important to pay attention to the needs of those working from home and to managing staff remotely. At the same time other staff have continued to go to work and/or returned to their workplaces, albeit to work environments which have been altered in order to implement social distancing rules and new ways of working. Some staff have been furloughed and still others have been unable to work because they are clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV) or shielding family or others who are CEV. The experience of staff during the pandemic is therefore diverse and wide ranging.
The webpages listed below set out the joint work currently being undertaken on mental health in response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and signpost to a range of mental health resources to support members/employers and staff.
